The Jungle School of Medicine Kawthoolei, also known as JSMK, is an initiative of the Free Burma Rangers, a local, non-profit humanitarian organization established in 1997. Though the FBR had initially set up one-to-two month training programs to train local students as medics as well as year-round programs that focus on jungle-specific diseases. After graduation, students integrate into FBR mobile support teams in conflict zones across Burma.
In 2012, and again 2016, we had the honor of supporting JSMK with a donation of medical diagnostic equipment. This equipment will support student studies and be donated to graduating classes of JSMK students.
