In May 2014 a small team of UC Davis medical students, lead by faculty, went on a goodwill mission to a small village near Punjab, India. This mission was lead to honor the father of one of the members of the UC Davis staff by traveling to his village to provide care.
While there, the medical team studied medical anthropology in regards to health care practices in Indian compared to Indian populations in the United States. They also worked with the medical school in the Punjab region and provided them with various medicine and supplies.
We proudly supported this team with stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors and other medical diagnostic equipment to assist in their health screening and medical relief efforts. These instruments were donated to local medical practitioners whom the students studied under and assisted.
