Instead of small scale cooperative efforts between individual academic institutions involving exchanges of a few people, The Ministry of Healthy (Rwanda) has partnered with a consortium of twenty-three US institutions of medicine, nursing, health management, and oral health. This is called the Rwandan Resources for Health Program.

University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing is one of these participating institutions. Together they are supplying full-time medical, nursing, health management and dentistry faculty who are paired with Rwandan faculty and students at the University of Rwanda- College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Kigali, to ensure knowledge transfer and upgrading of clinical skills.

We are proud to have supplied the team of staff from UIC with a donation of medical diagnostic equipment that can be used by the Rwandan faculty and students that they will be partnering with and teaching.

Pictured below are the nursing students at the Rwamagana campus of the school of nursing and midwifery, University of Rwanda receiving their MDF stethoscopes.
