Each year, a small team of nursing students and instructors from Villanova University College of Nursing assists and team teaches with the School of Nursing in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. This is a learning experience for the students, however, their main focus in assisting with patient care and community health education. They also visit Waslala, Nicaragua where they help train community workers.
We are proud to have supported Villanova’s medical relief team with a donation of medical diagnostic equipment to assist with their health education and medical relief efforts in Nicaragua. These instruments were donated to staff at the School of Nursing in Matagalpa and to community health workers who were trained in Waslala.
